New Road Design

Responsible for the design of a new road for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Regional Office. The new road will provide access to an existing housing development that does not have legal access at this time and is isolated during flood events. The current road is over private property and washes out almost every spring during the annual flooding of the Buckland River. The new road was founded on a permafrost foundation consisting of ice-rich silts, and crosses an overflow path used by floodwaters when ice-jams create flooding on the river. Services include:

  • Land surveying in conjunction with planned community water and sewer project
  • Feasibility study
