Port Saint Nicholas Road Upgrade Design

The Federally recognized Tribal government for the community of Craig, the Craig Community Association, retained RPKA to upgrade 5.5 miles of road from Craig to their water treatment facility. This project is being done under the PL 93-638 process. RPKA helped develop the project, assisted with the preparation of the PL 93-638 contract proposal, and negotiated the project with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Alaska Department of Transportation. Services include:

  • Preliminary engineering report
  • Environmental assessment
  • Hydraulic and hydrology study
  • Geotechnical investigation
  • Surveying
  • Design
  • Permitting

The purpose of this project is to upgrade the road to include pedestrian facilities and a paved surface to provide better access to residential housing.
