Bridge Services

RPKA's client services include bridge design. Our staff is responsible for the design of an 85ft bridge in Pedro Bay, a 55ft bridge in Craig, a 40ft bridge in Kasaan, a 30ft bridge in Port Graham, and a 65ft bridge for the University of Alaska Anchorage Campus.

One of the firms' major areas of concentration is bridge inventory and inspection. Since 1987 we have completed over 1450 bridge inspections from Craig and Kate Alaska to Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Texas. Bridge inspections include: inventory, field inspection, repair and /or replacement costs estimates, rating and load analyses, underwater inspection, scour analysis, and final reports. RPKA's bridge inspections are performed in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Safe load capacity is determined for each bridge. Rating analyses and safe load determinations are performed in accordance with AASHTO and FHWA standards. Bridges are inspected by a certified inspector meeting NBIS qualifications for a team leader. Management, analyses, calculations, and final reports are performed by a licensed engineer/certified bridge inspector meeting NBIS, AASHTO, and FHWA qualifications.
